Jamison Steel Rule Die, Inc. is a manufacturer of steel rule cutting dies for the automotive; corrugated; folding carton; foam; commercial printing; gasket and packaging industries. JSRD has state of the art equipment which allows us to provide our customers with the best quality dies and the best lead times in the industry. A brief list of our equipment consist of (4) Lasercomb Lasers; (8) Adam's Automatic rule benders; (2) Data Technology rule processors; (1) Data technology (90" x 160") sample table.

JSRD has numerous size rotary die cylinders that allows us to knife any diameter rotary die in the marketplace. We also stock numerous types and sizes of rule for any application. We build dies with rule heights up to 4" tall. Two of our Adams automatic rule benders are designed for 6 pt rule up to 2" tall. Three of our lasers are combination lasers that will burn both rotary and flat dies. Our 4th laser is designated for our automotive division and is capable of burning a flat dieboard that is 84" x 240". We have dieboards in stock that measure 84" x 240". This allows us to build large automotive dies with no splices in the wood so that die strength is not compromised.

Die Processing
Lasers
We currently have four Lasers - three are Lasercomb combination Rotary and flat die lasers and one flat laser. We can burn any Rotary die size from 37 ½" to 92". This insures extreme accuracy on all die types. Our new Lasercomb flat laser is capable of burning 80" x 240". This is particularly beneficial for producing large dies for the Automotive Industry. A laser burned die is far and away a stronger and more accurate die than a hand jigged one. The top grade of die board used for burning is stronger and holds rule tighter than conventional die wood. This solid foundation is one factor in the longevity of our dies. The precision of the Laser is unmatched. We can, and do meet the closest of tolerances in the corrugated and automotive industry. After a solid design, the quality of the actual die begins here.

Processing Steel Rule
Most all the steel rule inserted in our dies is formed using Mechanical Rule Processors. These rule processors are computer driven using the same CAD file as for the Laser. This insures a perfect fit when the steel is inserted into the die board. The Rule Processors play a key role in accuracy and production time. We are able to produce dies in a fraction of the time as opposed to manufacturing each piece by hand. Processed rule is another important factor in the longevity and over all performance of our dies. Our latest editions include two 6pt rule processors. This is just another example of how we are able to meet the demands of the ever changing industry. We currently have ten Rule Processors in operation.

At Jamison Steel Rule Die we use highest quality material available today. Our steel rule is "Edge Hardened" for extra long life, however it is also flexible enough to withstand cracking under pressure. When extra pressure is needed to compensate for anvil cover wear our rule will perform longer. Our competitors use a cheaper rule that is not edge hardened and is more subject to cracking. Therefore more frequent re-rule jobs and down time on press. This means lost revenues for you. With proper die treatment, our dies outlast our competitions.

Rubber Ejection
Correct placement, height and amount of ejection rubber can make or break the performance of a cutting die. Through communication with our customers and research we have learned many aspects of rubber placement on a die. Due to the vast variety of design and flute combinations, each die is approached differently. Theories are taught to our employees so that they may better understand actual problems. We use top quality dieprene rubber that withstands countless runs. After the completion of the rubbering process, we run a sample proof on one of two sample die cutters.
